James E. Hebert, 72, formerly of Nederland, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011, in Lumberton.

He was born in Port Arthur on October 16, 1939, to Lloyd Hebert, Sr. and Elsie Hebert.  He retired from DuPont Beaumont Works after thirty-two years of service as an operator.  James also served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his daughters, Christine Retherford and her husband, Edward of Lumberton and Michelle Lemoine and her husband, Mark of Port Neches; grandchildren, James Baze and Nathan Retherford, V, of Lumberton, and Matthew Lemoine of Port Neches; step grandson, Jace Retherford, IV, of Kountze; great granddaughter, MaKenna Baze of Bridge City; three nieces; and two nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the Cancer Center of Southeast Texas, Lawrence Sanders, M.D. and staff, Ramish Karia, M.D. and staff, and Harbor Home Health and Hospice for all the care and kindness given to James.

Following a private family interment, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
