Heidemarie-Karin Brodie Travis, 70, of Silsbee died Monday, November 14, 2011, at her residence.

A native of Berlin, Heidi moved to Silsbee in 1963, where she raised her family and became a friend and mentor of many over the years.  Her fierce wit, fortitude, and unwavering honesty will be missed by all.

Heidi is survived by her husband, J. D. Travis; daughters; Claudia Parks, Sandra Barnes and her husband, Kirk; Margaret Travis, and Sylinthia Wilson; grandchildren, Sgt. Joshua Sherman, United States Marine Corps, Gabi Voyles, Kevin Barnes, Woody Barnes, Zachary Wilson, and Austin McGary; and great granddaughter, Aubrey Voyles.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kurt Hugo and Liesbeth Augusta Deutschmann.

Arrangements are being handled by Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
