John Henry Wolcott, 76, of New Caney, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 12, 2011. John was born in Kountze, Texas on July 26, 1935 to Carlton Gains and Ada Johnny (Hair) Wolcott. He was retired ironworker and served as the Business Manager for Ironworkers Local 84 in Houston. John served his country in the United States Army and was a member of First Baptist Church in Porter.

He is survived by his loving wife, Darrell Wolcott of New Caney; children, Craig Wolcott of Houston, Billy Wolcott of New Caney and Jeanne Wolcott of Laramie, Wyoming; sisters, Betty Johnson and her husband Benny of Orange, Carolyn Boase and her husband Bob of Honey Island, Brenda Phillips and her husband Don of Honey Island; brothers, Gains Wolcott and his wife Gisela of Warren, Tommy Wolcott and his wife Janet of Kountze; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at First Baptist Church, 24570 FM 1314, Porter, Texas 77365 under the direction of Broussard’s in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the church. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Holland Cemetery in Kountze.
