Robert "Frog" Faulk 
September 29, 1942 - October 11, 2011

Robert “Frog” Faulk, 69, of Sour Lake, died Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont.

 

He was born September 29, 1942, in Crowley, Louisiana, to Mary Ellen Faulk Abshire and Robert V. Faulk, and had been a resident of Sour Lake for over forty years.  Frog was an insulator with Union Local #22 in Houston and was a member of Masonic Lodges #1368 and #1370.  He was a United States Navy veteran.

 

Survivors include his mother, Mary Ellen Faulk Abshire; daughters, Alicia Soileau and her husband, Daniel and Aliceson Hidalgo; son, Benjamin Cowart; seven grandchildren; brother, Johnny Faulk; sisters, Vivian Hoffpauir and Gail Vincent; stepbrothers and stepsisters, Blake Hawkins, Mike Hawkins, Pat Hawkins and Mary Ellen Hawkins Stafford; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

 

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert V. Faulk; and stepmother, Ann Hawkins Faulk.

 

His graveside service will be 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1650 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Broussard’s.
