Dorothy Ann Read, 90, of Asheboro, North Carolina, died Thursday, September 22, 2011, at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Born March 19, 1921, in Houston to Violet O’Quinn and Thomas C. Wilson; she was a homemaker and member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include grandchildren, Carie Bounds and her husband, Jerry of Fort Worth, Kimberly Miller and her husband, Darren of Asheboro, North Carolina, Karen Wooten and her husband, Jack of Vass, North Carolina, Denae Read of Beaumont, Jack Read and his wife, Tracy of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and James Read of Austin; ten great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, R.L.Read; and sons, Thomas Ruel Read and Ronnie Lee Read.

Her funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville.
