Michael “Mike” A. Phillips, 60, of Nederland died September 25, 2011 at Spring Creek Manor in Beaumont.  Born August 5, 1951 in Barstow, California, Mike was the son of Shirley Mae Lacobie and Harold Phillips.  Mike resided most of his life in the area and worked construction.  He played the guitar and enjoyed his music, and was honest, caring, and friendly to everyone.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Guidry and his stepfather, Clifford Guidry of LaBelle; brothers, Gary Wayne Phillips and his wife, Brenda of Port Acres and Danny V. Phillips of Nederland; nieces, Kandi Simmons, Amber Owens, and Monica McClintock; four great nephews and one great niece.  He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Phillips.

A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday evening, September 27, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.   Cremation will be through Broussard’s Crematorium.
