Joseph Nathaniel “Joe” Faggard, 92, of High Island, died Friday, September 23, 2011 at his residence. Born June 1, 1919, to Loucinne Dion and Clyde Faggard in Lasserre, France. Joe was a lifetime resident of High Island. A United States Air Force Veteran, he was a retired constable of Galveston County, serving the Bolivar Peninsula area.   Mr. Faggard is survived by his wife, Bobbie Hartzog Faggard, of High Island; sons, Lanny Joe Faggard, of Houston, and Shan Faggard and his wife, Judy, of Stafford, Virginia; daughter, Debbie Lane and her husband, Darrell of Galveston; brothers, Albert “BoBo” Faggard and his wife, Anne, of Beaumont, and Clyde “Bootsy” Faggard and his wife, Gail of Gilchrist; sister, Irene Merindino, and her husband, Buster of Beaumont; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends in and around the Bolivar area.  

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, in High Island, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with burial to follow in High Island Cemetery.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening, September 26, 2011 at Broussard’s.
