Jewel Daniel Hales, 88, of Vidor, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011.  She was born October 2, 1922, in Batson, to the late Esther and Charlie Daniel; and had lived in the Vidor area most of her life.

Survivors include her children, Phyllis Lindsey, Linda Mitchell and Francis Hales; grandchildren, Greg, Scott, Dennis, Angela and Derrick; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Basel Daniels; three sisters-in-law, Mavis Daniel, Rosa Hales and Ethel Jolley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Hales.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011, at Batson Prairie Baptist Church, 11713 Batson Prairie Road,  Batson, with interment to follow at Guedry Cemetery, Batson under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church.
