Richard L. “Stoney” Stonnell, 81, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011, surrounded by his family and friends.  Born August 31, 1930, in Ocean City, New Jersey, to Gertrude Monaghan Stonnell and Richard N. Stonnell; and had been a resident of the Beaumont area most of his life.  Mr. Stonnell was a retired maintenance planner and scheduler with Aramco and was a United States Navy veteran having served in the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Opal Stonnell of Beaumont; daughters, Lorrie Wiggins of Beaumont and Kathy Reiff and her husband, Ed of Katy: five grandchildren, Melissa Wiggins, Emily Reiff, Michelle Wiggins, Graham Reiff, and Caitlin Reiff; three great grandchildren, Haylee Westerterp, Chase Strong, and Talen Brown; brother, Norman Stonnell of New Jersey; and numerous other relatives and extended family.

His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  A gathering of his family and friends for visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2011, at Broussard’s.
