Nelwyn Meredith, 74, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Huguley Memorial Medical Center in Burleson.

She was born in Hemphill on December 18, 1936, to Benena Smith Ener and Norman Ener and had been a resident of Beaumont for over fifty years. Mrs. Meredith was a former teacher with the Beaumont Independent School District.

Survivors include her sons, Dudley Meredith, Jr. and his wife, Kelli of Beaumont and Donny Meredith of Joshua; daughter, Jo Lynn Augsburger and her husband, Jody of Burleson; grandchildren, Hunter Meredith, Griffin Meredith, Garrett Augsburger, Madison Meredith and Meredith Augsburger; sisters, Marjorie Savoy and Maurine Behrens; and brother, Norman Wesley Ener.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011, at Broussard’s.
