Betty Jean Wren Wheeler, 81, of Beaumont, died Monday, September 12, 2011, at Summer Place Nursing and Rehabilitation.  A native of Port Arthur, she was born June 26, 1930, to Rubye Mae Ferrell Wren and Alney H. Wren.  She was a retired Registered Nurse, a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Beaumont, a member of Beaumont Civic Opera, and a volunteer at Baptist Hospital.

Survivors include her children, Shawn Wheeler of Austin, Robert Wheeler and Barbara Coughlin of Grays Lake, Illinois, Ferrell Wheeler of Sunderland, Maryland; and Erin and Dan Pemberton  of Beaumont; and grandchildren, Sheehan Wheeler, Caislin Wheeler, Muirgheal Wheeler, Daniel Pemberton, and Patrick Pemberton.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Barbara Hamner.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Broussard’s.
