William John Fisher, Jr. 
November 27, 1924 - September 12, 2011

William John Fisher, Jr., 86, of Fannett, died Monday, September 12, 2011, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.  A lifelong area resident, he was born in Beaumont on November 27, 1924, to Minnie Rothman Fisher and William John Fisher, Sr. A graduate of South Park High School, he was a retired machinist with Neches Butane.  He was a lifelong and active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beaumont. His hobbies included woodworking and crafts. 

 

Survivors include his children, Kathleen Fisher of Beaumont, Christie Bauer and her husband, Jack of Winnie, and Bill Fisher and his wife, Iris of Warren; grandchildren, Gerald Bauer of Winnie,Sherri George of Belton, Jennifer Abshire of Fannett, Patricia Ortego of Kinder, Louisiana, and Kandi Fisher of Vidor; twelve great grandchildren; and brother, Freddie Fisher and his wife Tini of Beaumont.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Thelma Fisher.

 

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2011, at St. John Lutheran Church, 2955 South Major Drive, Beaumont with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Broussard’s.

 

Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Hilgemeier, Doug Nelson, Mike Root, Billy Heiner, Gerald Bauer, and Tim Abshire.  Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Olivier, Walter Erickson, Weldon Kaspar, Clyde DeFrates, George Garsea, and Keith Davis.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund, 2955 South Major Drive, Beaumont, Texas  77707 or to LaBelle-Fannett Volunteer Fire Department, 18769 FM 365, Beaumont, Texas  77705.
