Anna Irwin, 95, of San Antonio formerly of Winnie died August 30, 2011, at the Odyssey House of San Antonio.

She was born on December 16, 1915, to Frank McBride and Lena Sitting McBride in Vinton, Louisiana. Anna loved her family and enjoyed sewing, crochet, knitting and playing games.

Anna was survived by her son, Ross Compton and his wife, Pearl of Sour Lake; daughter, Edna Ryan and her husband, Frank of San Antonio; brother, Pete McBride and his wife, Bertha of Winnie; grandchildren, Twila Shafer, Ross Compton, Jr., Mack Compton, Billy Hal Woodward, Danny Woodward, Troyce Earl Williams, Justin Sifford, Jerrod Sifford, and Kristan Sifford; great-grandchildren, Stetson Compton, Tanner Compton, Jeremy Compton, David Compton, Laura Compton, Julie Compton, Rustin Williams and Wendy Williams; great-great-grandchildren, Ann Marie Compton, Evan Christian Klein, Corbin Andrew Klein, Stephanie Mailee Sifford-Charboneau, Karysa Woodward, and Kasander Woodward; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Winnie. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 8:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Broussard’s.
