Marvin Paul Schroeder, Sr.,76, of Fannett, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth.  A native of Beaumont and resident of Fannett, he was born April 2, 1935, to Erna and Dutch Schroeder.  He retired with Dupont Beaumont Works and was a veteran of the United States Army having served as a member of the United States Army Honor Guard.

Marvin enjoyed doing for others.  He cooked an excellent batch of biscuits at the Biscuit Barn during the Southeast Texas State Fair.  He will be missed by family and many friends.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Patsy) Ann Schroeder; son, Paul Schroeder, Jr. and his wife, Cindy; daughters, Stacey Hatcher and her husband, Wayne and Jamey Pentecost and her husband, Ricky; grandchildren, Misty Pierson, Ashley Cathey, Hollie Schroeder, Kristie Doucet, Lisa Hatcher, Cassie Richardson, Richard Pentecost, and Becky Pentecost; great grandchildren, Walker and Crawford Pierson, Grady Delino Doucet, Tre’ Romero, Cody and Clayton Richardson, and Chloe Davis; brothers, Johnny Schroeder and V.K. (Ickey) Schroeder, Sr.; sister, Alena Schroeder; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, F.W. (Boots) Schroeder and A.W. (Sugum) Schroeder.

His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2011, at Broussard’s.
