Donald “Don” Lewis Corder, 80, of Beaumont, died Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas-Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was born on March 4, 1931, to Lucile and Lee Corder. Don was a 1949 graduate of St. Anthony High School and retired from Rogers Brothers Optical Laboratory, in Beaumont. Survivors include his sister, Kathleen Shelton and her husband, C.A. “Pete” of Beaumont; nieces and nephews, Patrick Shelton of Fannett, Karen Shelton and Jill Shelton Proctor and her husband, Jay all of Beaumont; great-nieces and great-nephews, Kathleen Huffnagle and Anna Huffnagle of Beaumont, Anthony Fazio of Houston, and Ford Proctor of Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2011, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2011, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. at Broussard’s. Memorial contributions may be made to Msgr. Kelly Catholic High School, 5950 Kelly Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77707-3599.
