Herbert P. Hidalgo, 82, of Beaumont, went home to meet our heavenly Father on September 3, 2011, after a brief battle with cancer at Dubuis Hospital of Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was born to Ellis and Adell Theriot Hidalgo, on January 19, 1929. Herbert was an auto mechanic and the owner of Herb’s Garage.
Survivors include his sisters, Elsie Grissom and her husband, James of Silsbee, and Cecelia Mouton and her husband, Donald of Port Neches; nieces and nephews, Pam Spivey, Lynn Grissom, Anita Ratliff, Colleen Huff, Chris Brown and Cary Brown; fourteen great-nieces and great-nephews; and three great-great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Adell and Ellis Hidalgo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, 700 Jefferson Street, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Christian Vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Broussard’s.
