Billy Julius Lambert, 80, of Beaumont, died Thursday, September 1, 2011. He was born in Darlington, South Carolina on January 17, 1931, to James and Bessie Giles Lambert. Billy lived in Charleston, South Carolina during World War II and grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He joined the United States Navy in June 1948 and retired after twenty years as Navy Chief Petty Officer in the Hospital Corps. His duty stations include: Morocco, Camp Lejeune North Carolina, Camp Pendleton California, Marine reserve unit Inspector-Instructor staff Meridian Mississippi, USS Antares AKS33 as medical representative, Nea Makri, Greece and in charge of setting up the medical clinic; last duty station Marine reserve unit Galveston Texas as medical representative and discharged from there in 1968. Billy worked as a medical representative for Schering-Plough and retired in October 1990. After a three month courtship, he married Dorothy Marie Osborn in 1957 and in August celebrated fifty-four years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lambert of Beaumont; daughter, Michelle Marie Lambert Ryan and her husband, Robert Scott Ryan of Sour Lake; grandsons, Robert David Ryan and Sean Michael Ryan; brother, Bobby Lambert and his wife, Jean of Pinehurst, North Carolina; sister-in-laws, Gracie Duncan and her husband, Lloyd, and Helen Osborn, all of Kansas; and brother-in-laws, Kenneth Osborn and his wife, Sharon of California and Gary Osborn and his wife, Linda of Kansas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2011, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, with a committal service to follow at Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Christian Vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2011, at Broussard’s. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
