Lewis Evelyn Turner, 78, of Kountze died Sunday, August 28, 2011, at Dowlen Oaks in Beaumont.  A native and lifelong resident of Kountze, she was born May 30, 1933, to Louvenia Roundtree and Charlie Roberts and was a retired school teacher with Kountze Elementary having taught fourth grade for twenty-one years.

Survivors include her daughters, Teena Elkins and her husband, Don and Tracy Baker and her husband, Paul all of Kountze; grandchildren, Jeremy Martinka and his wife, Kathy, Hayley Martinka, Mason Baker, and Aaron Baker; and great grandchildren, Jaxon, Parker, Zane, and Maddox.  Aunt Doo is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other friends.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Happy Valley Church, 4069 Villa Rd., Kountze with interment to follow at Hooks Cemetery in Kountze under the direction of Broussard’s in Kountze.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at the church.
