Michael Foriest Lutz, 54, of Houston, died Thursday, August 25,2011.  He was born January 15,1957, in Algiers, Louisiana, to Sharon Lutz and Foriest Lutz. Spending his first years of life in Gretna, Louisiana, he spent most of his life in Lumberton ,Texas, and the last five years in Houston when he remarried Terrie Lutz.

He served four years in the United States Army and was active in 4-H throughout his childhood, earning a gold star. He loved to play golf and had more than his share of remote control planes in his life. Most of all he loved family and the extended life he was given. He got to enjoy most of his grandkids. 

Michael is survived by his wife, Terrie Lutz; his parents, Foriest and Sharon Lutz; his sister, Stacy Lutz and her partner, Carla Cooley; his daughter, Michelle Lutz Nelson and her husband Jackie; sons,  Michael Lutz and his wife, Candice, and Byron Lutz and his wife, Tracie; his stepsons, Nick Pattillo and his wife, Jamie, and Ray McRoberts; and ten grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, August 29, 2011 at  Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Rd. @ hwy 96, Silsbee. A gathering of family and friends will also be Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers or cash contributions that you make donations to the Lupus Foundation of America or The American Cancer Society.
