Richard Clifton Barlow, Sr., 68, of Lumberton, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

A native of Beaumont and lifelong resident of the area, Mr. Barlow was a retired senior operator and mechanic from DuPont Beaumont Works after thirty-three years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Barlow of Lumberton; son, Richard Barlow, Jr. and his wife, Shannon of Lake Charles, Louisiana; daughter, Julie Strassburger and her husband, Ken of Beaumont; grandchildren, Maryclaire Strassburger of Beaumont, Haley Barlow, Rhett Barlow and Carlin Donart all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; sisters, Martha Simoneaux of Groves and Elma Jones of Beaumont; brothers, Fred Jones of Vidor and Joe Barlow of Tyler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His graveside service will be 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2011, at Broussard’s.
