David Charles Monds, 54, of Kountze died Sunday, August 21, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.  A native and lifelong resident of Kountze, he was born December 25, 1956, to Loretta Jean Gee and Jerry Charles Monds and was a blacksmith and artist.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Loretta and Robert Jones; sisters, Delana Davis and her husband, Charles of Marshfield, Missouri and Brandi Jones of Kountze; niece, Elizabeth Maness and her husband, Matthew of Marshfield, Missouri; and numerous aunts, uncles, friends, and all of his beloved animals.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry “Red” Monds; and grandparents, David and Georgia Gee.

His graveside service will be 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Resthaven Cemetery, South 3rd. Street, Silsbee under the direction of Broussard’s in Kountze.
