Donald Lee Lavergne, 64, of Vidor died Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

He was born in Church Point, Louisiana and had lived in the Vidor area since 1969.  He served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam and later was a steel worker.  Donald has “gone fishing”.

Donald is survived by his children, Dale Lavergne of Kinder, Louisiana, Donovan Lavergne of Vallejo, California, Zachariah Lavergne of Mauriceville, and Hollie Drake and her husband, Tim Drake, II of Silsbee; grandchildren, Alexis Lavergne, Rylee Lavergne, and Roland Drake; sisters, Sandra Wright and Charlotte Lavergne and her husband, Glenn all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and brother, Danny Lavergne and his wife, Kathy of Vinton, Louisiana. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gervis Louis and Grace Carrier Lavergne and sister, Linda Reardon.

A funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee with burial to follow at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.  A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, August 19, 2011, 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s.
