Susie Middleton, 91, of Beaumont, died Monday, August 8, 2011, at The Clairmont in Beaumont.

A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont; she was born November 7, 1919, to Stella Martha Hancock Looney and Henry Clay Looney. She was a 1937 graduate from Beaumont High School and had been a member of North End Baptist Church since 1950 where she had worked in the nursery for twenty plus years.

Survivors include her sons, Gerry Middleton of Sherman, Berton Middleton and his wife, Brenda of San Antonio, and Tim Middleton and his wife, Lisa of Plano; daughters, Debbie Burneston of Beaumont and Deanna Robinson of Lufkin; eighteen grandchildren, Rick Middleton, Stephanie Baklik, James Middleton, Mary Lou Awbrey, Ariel Aaron, Becky Middleton, Kristin Haun, Jennifer Taylor, Hope Middleton, Jacob Middleton, Jeremy Byrom, Erin Damin, Alisa Bell, Kimberlee Freeman, Jordan Robinson, Kelsey Robinson, Jake Robinson, and Joshua Robinson; eighteen great-grandchildren; and her nephew, Michael Looney of Houston.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert E. Looney; her sister, Margie Lee Looney; and her husband, Austin B. Middleton.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont with Jeff Freeman, Paul Damin, Brian Bell, Jordan Robinson, Jake Robinson and Joshua Robinson serving as pallbearers. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Broussard’s.
