Luther “Bruce” Bloodworth, 89, of Beaumont, died Monday, August 8, 2011, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Mr. Bloodworth was born October 11, 1921, to Lydia Doiron Bloodworth and Luther H. Bloodworth. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II having served in the Normandy campaign. Mr. Bloodworth was a retired brick mason from Mobil Oil after forty-three years of service. Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Rosalie B. Bloodworth of Beaumont; daughters, Anita Proctor and her husband, Ronald of Humble and Paula Webb and her husband, Rowland of Beaumont; son, Alan Bloodworth and his wife, Carla of Lumberton; grandchildren, Celeste Gray and her husband, David of Houston, Ronald Proctor, Jr. and his wife, Melissa of Conroe and Christopher Bloodworth of Beaumont; and great grandchildren, Madeline Proctor, Aaron Proctor and Cadence Bloodworth. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Nicholas Webb; and sister, Catherine Davis. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major, Beaumont with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Broussard’s.
