Frank "Red" Harvey 
May 26, 1931 - August 4, 2011

Frank “Red” Harvey died Thursday, August 4, 2011.  He was born to Annie Laura Carter and James Franklin Harvey, Sr. in Foulk, Arkansas on May 26, 1931.  Shortly after, his family moved to Beaumont, Texas.  Graduating from French High School in 1950, Frank was an avid sportsman, lettering in three sports, receiving a football scholarship at Panola.  He was Beaumont’s Athlete of the Year in 1950.  Instead of Panola, Frank chose to go into the service.  After joining the United States Air Force, he returned from Korea with his wife Nancy, to raise four children, Glenda, Bubba, Cindy and Mark.  After a thirty-five year career with Mobil Oil, Frank retired to his home in Nederland, where he enjoyed traveling.  His last twenty years were devoted to Christ, and offering words of encouragement to his children and  grandchildren. 

 

Frank is survived by his daughters, Glenda Langley and Cindy Harvey; sons, James “Bubba” Harvey and Mark Harvey; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren;: brothers, Tommy Harvey of Beaumont, Larry Harvey of South Carolina, and David Harvey of Groves; sister, Mildred Chance of Silsbee; and several nieces and nephews.

 

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland with burial to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 7, 2011, at Broussard’s.
