Thelma Smith Gaulding, 91, of Winnie died August 5, 2011, at the Arboretum of Winnie.  

A native of Cheek, she was born on March 13, 1920, to Ector and Ada Keith Smith. Thelma was a longtime resident of the Winnie area and a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Winnie-Stowell.

She is survived by daughters, Bonnie Donaho and her husband, John of Hamshire and Patti Fitzgerald and her husband, Steve; son, John Gaulding and his wife, Vickey all of Winnie; grandchildren, Stacey Smith and her husband, Chris, Sean Donaho and his wife, Robyn, Alan Gaulding, Chris Gaulding and his wife, Angela, Katie Marek and her husband, Daryl, and Tyler Fitzgerald and his wife, Nikki; great-grandchildren, Sydney Smith, Cameron Smith, Blake Donaho, Ross Donaho, Lauren Gaulding, Ellie Gaulding, Ceili Gaulding and Rylee Fitzgerald; and numerous relatives and friends. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, J. F. “Bill” Gaulding.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church, 1708 State Hwy 124, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, in Winnie. Graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, 4955 Pine in Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Broussard’s.
