Latrice Slaughter, 80, of Nederland, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Promise Hospital in Nederland.  Born June 24, 1931, in Nocona, Texas to Opal Faye Level and Lloyd E. Tucker, she was a resident of the Mid-County area since 2002.

Latrice was a retired kindergarten teacher and was also a South Western Bell operator for some of her years employed.

She is survived by her husband, O.L. Slaughter of Nederland; daughter, Teresa Ann Robin and her husband, Randy of Nederland; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. 

Latrice is preceded in death by her parents;sister, Loydell King; and brother, Don Tucker.

Her funeral service will be 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.  A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 4:30 p.m., until the time of service Wednesday afternoon at Broussard’s.

A private family committal will be held at a later date.
