Ruby Childers Joynor, 90, of Beaumont died Friday, July 29, 2011, at her residence.  Born November 25, 1920, in Orvilla,Texas to Veda Marie Young Summers and Henry Grady Summers; she retired with the Internal Revenue Service as an auditor with thirty-five years of service.

Survivors include her daughters, Betty Butler and her husband, Glen, and Mary Christensen and her husband, David, both of Beaumont; grandchildren, Jessica Heckaman and her husband, Cody, Nicole Bond and her husband, Jefrey, Emalee Christensen, Hannah Christensen, Amie Cadiere and her husband, Nick, Karye McLendon and her husband, Steven, and Paje Butler; and great grandchildren, Jakob Woodall, Tristian Bailey, Madison Cockerham, Austen Cockerham, Parker Woodall, Kheagian Heckamen, Riley Cadiere, Kingston McLendon, Cameron Heckaman, Landon McLendon, and Logan McLendon.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill “B.W.” Childers; and her daughter, Veda “Susie” Eaves.

A gathering of her family and friends will be Monday, August 1, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A family graveside will be held at a later date.
