James Clarence Frankland, 82, of High Island died July 26, 2011, at the Harbor Hospital of Beaumont.A native of Port Arthur, James was born on July 25, 1929, to Lee Frankland and Mary Evelyn Shaw Frankland.

He later moved to Athens and lived there for twenty years before moving to the High Island area for the remainder of his life. James worked at Amaco in the oil fields before retiring.

He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Fontenot of Winnie; grandchildren, Michelle Renne Frankland of Hamshire, Reisti Michelle Frankland of Beaumont, Shawn Williamson of Dayton, James Michael Frankland, Jr. of Hamshire, Jessica Wilcox of Baytown and Ashley Peters of Winnie; great grandchildren, Kaleigh, Kalina and Landin Williamson of Dayton, Daylor, Danica and Daycen Wilcox of Baytown, Gabriel and Ashton Frankland of Beaumont, and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, James Michael Frankland, Sr.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2011, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie with burial at Fairview Cemetery. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Broussard’s.
