Earl C. Schlicher 
February 3, 1930 - July 21, 2011

Earl C. Schlicher, 81, of Beaumont, died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

 

Born February 3, 1930, in Welch, Louisiana, to Caroline Culver Schlicher and Alexander Paul Schlicher; Earl had lived in the Beaumont area most of his life.  He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Korean War and was a retired sheet metal worker. Earl was a member of the Elks Lodge for many years, where he had many friends.

 

Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Murl Schlicher of Beaumont; daughter, Renee Schlicher of Beaumont; son, Billy Joe Davis of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Brandon Davis and Susan Leach; great-grandchildren, Triston, McKenzie, Cory, Spencer and Christian; one great-great-grandchild; best friend, Guy Trammell; and his bingo daughter, Debbie Williams.

 

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Schlicher and Gene Schlicher; and sisters, Mary Schlicher and Carolyn Sibley.

 

A gathering of his family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

 

His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home,  601 Highway 80 East,  Bossier City, Louisiana, with interment to follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park, Bossier City. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
