LaWanda McCowan, 32, of Nederland, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born August 27, 1978, to Rena Kay McCowan Hollingsworth in Galveston, and was a lifetime resident of the Mid-County area.

LaWanda is survived by her grandmother, Wanda McCowan of Nederland; brothers, Kenny Hollingsworth and his wife, Jennifer of Mississippi and Bob Riley of Nederland; fiancée, Hayden Bullock of Arkansas; and a host of additional relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Rena Hollingsworth.

Her memorial service will be 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. until time of service Tuesday evening at Broussard’s.
