Ronald E. “Ron” Reeves, 66, of Brookeland died Sunday, July 17, 2011, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth.  Ron was born March 11, 1945, in Burnett to Emma Ruth (Wilcox) and Eldon Reeves. A longtime resident of Vidor, he had lived in Brookeland the last five years and was a 1965 graduate of Vidor High School. He was a truck driver and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Cherry Reeves of Brookeland; children, Kyle Dillon and his wife, Lisa of Beaumont and Donnell May and her husband, Alan of Daphne, Alabama; grandchildren, Jennifer Knight, Justin Knight, Jacob Dillon, Madison May, and Colton May; sisters, Sherry Reeves and her husband, John H. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Wanda Joyce Ling,  Betty Sue Alston and her husband, Gilbert, and Patsy Ann Zoch all of Vidor; brother, Donald Earl Reeves, and his wife, Ann of Winnie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church, 290 South Street, Vidor with Reverend G.R. “Bobby” Edwards and Reverend Randy Stanton officiating under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  His graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Camp Ruby Cemetery in Dallardsville.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2011, at the church.
