Cora McDermott Dow, 77, of Winnie died July 13, 2011, at the Winnie Community Hospital.

A native of Beaumont she was born December 18, 1933, to William McDermott and Pina Mae Brown McDermott. Cora had lived in the Winnie area all her life and was a retired florist.

She is survived by her son, Troy Dow and his wife, Helena; daughter, Peggy Scott of Nacogdoches; brother, Robert “Buddy” McDermott and his wife, Andrea of Old Hickory, Tennessee; sister, Paula Kiker and her husband, Dale of Winnie and Billie Cherry and her husband, Josh of Beaumont; grandchildren, Jennifer Scott, Nathaniel Scott, Nick Dow and Chace Dow; and numerous relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Dow, Jr. and sister, Rita Mayer.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Broussard’s. Cremation will be under the direction of Broussard’s in Winnie.
