Lisa Maria Silva Monroy 
February 11, 1986 - July 8, 2011

Lisa Maria Silva Monroy, resident of Lumberton, Texas, passed away on July 8, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas at the age of 25. She was born Lisa Maria Rhoades on February 11, 1986, and was a native of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

 

Lisa was blessed with a love of knowledge and possessed a self confidence that lead her to an adventurous life. In high school she participated in band, chorus, and bell choir and was an exchange student in Canada. She later attended St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. As part of her studies she traveled to Mexico. While there Lisa met her future husband, Fernando Silva Monroy. Lisa and Fernando were married on May 6, 2008. Soon after they were married they moved to Southeast Texas where Lisa worked as a Physician Assistant for Beaumont Emergency Medical Associates in the emergency room of Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

 

Lisa made friends easily and was full of love and compassion. She was also full of energy and enjoyed physical activity. Lisa had a witty sense of humor and could easily make people smile. It's no surprise Lisa had many friends. Two of her best friends were her dogs, Jackson and Charlie. During her life, Lisa made this world a better place. She will be missed by those who love her.

 

Lisa Silva Monroy is survived by her husband and their daughter, Fernando Silva Monroy and Alicia Maria Silva Monroy of Lumberton; parents, Randal and Kathleen Rhoades of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; sister and brother-in-law, Lauren and Nathan McNaughton of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; nephew, Joseph F. Triplett of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; grandmother, Betty Rhoades of  Carlisle, Pennsylvania; aunt, Debra Rhoades of Studio City, California; uncle, John Lamertina of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania; uncle, Gregory Lamertina of Altoona, Pennsylvania; aunt, Patricia Wolfe of Duncansville, Pennsylvania; uncle, Charles Lamertina of Columbia, Maryland; brother and sister-in-law, Jose V. and Nichole Silva of Dallas; nephew, Zachery Silva of San Antonio; and father and mother-in-law Jose and Alicia Silva of Cuernavaca, Mexico. She will also be missed by many other friends and loved ones.

 

She was preceded in death by her nephew, Rennie Triplett, Jr.

 

Her memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. 

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania at a later date.
