Santina “Tina” Mary DeFatta, 95, of Beaumont, died Monday, July 4, 2011, at The Clairmont. She was born to Josephine Barranco Battaglia and Vincent Battaglia on June 26, 1916, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Tina was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, a member of the Catholic Daughters of Americus Court St. Gerard #1938 and the Altar Society.
Survivors include her daughters, Benita Odom and Mary Ann Bruno, both of Beaumont; Charles Bruno; grandchildren, Cynthia Dickson and her husband, Richard, Dennis Odom, Jr. and his wife, Mari, Christina “Sharon” Odom, Tena Odom Cobb, David Odom and his wife, Teri, Ina Kay Pace and her husband, David, and Charlotte Miller and her husband, Thomas; seventeen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Angelina Aiena of Dayton.
She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty five years, David Anthony DeFatta; parents, Josephine and Vincent Battaglia; brother, Phillip Battaglia, Sr.; sister, Sarah Chapman; and son-in-law, Dennis Odom, Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m., Monday July 11, 2011, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, 700 Jefferson Street, with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2011, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
