Cynthia Prewitt Hanks, 58, of China died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at her residence.  Born January 21, 1953, in Oakdale, Louisiana to Rena Mary Dumesnil Thomas and Johnny Ray Russo; she was an accounts payable clerk with Port Arthur Housing Authority.

Survivors include her husband, Robert “Hog” Hanks of China; daughter, Heather Thomas and her husband, Bucky of Lafayette, Louisiana; son, Heath Prewitt of Deweyville; step-daughter, Ralinda Hanks of Lumberton; step-son, Robert “Dude” Hanks, Jr. and his wife, Kelsey of Sour Lake; mother, Rena Thomas of Indian Springs; brother, Clarence Russo and wife, Gina of Dallardsville; and five grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Prewitt.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.   A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Broussard’s.
