Veanna  Bailey Jackson, 89, of Anahuac died on June 22, 2011 at her residence.

She was born on February 19, 1922 in Anahuac to her parents Rance Bailey and Bantie Blue Bailey.

Veanna was survived by her daughters, Virginia Jackson of Anahuac and Reita Mae Jackson of Houston; sisters, Cecil Cormier and Daisey Banks of Anahuac; grandchildren Cherie Jackson, Henry Lewis, Herbert Coward, Annie Banks, Mary Humphrey, and Sandra Batiste; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Artenus Jackson.

Funeral services will be at Noon Saturday, July 2, 2011, at the Lilly of the Valley Church of God in Christ, 1222 North Main, in Anahuac with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until Noon Saturday at the church.
