Cliff Mougia 
July 16, 1930 - June 23, 2011

Cliff Mougia, 80, of Nederland, died Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Cypress Glen East, in Port Arthur. Born July 16, 1930 to Zora Connor and Arthur Andrus Mougia, in Lake Arthur, Louisiana, he was a lifetime resident of the Mid-County area.  Cliff is a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Korea conflict, and also retired from Gulf/Chevron Refinery after thirty-three years of employment. He enjoyed spending his time playing golf, fishing, and woodworking and clock repairs.

 

Cliff is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Marcia Ramsey Mougia of Nederland; daughters, Debbie Benoit and her husband, Bobby of Osage, Arkansas, Brenda Theriot and her husband, Anthony of Nederland, and Terrie Mougia of Beaumont; son, David Bonner and his wife, Jennifer of Lumberton; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson; and sister, Beverly Choate Harrison of Longview.

 

He will be especially missed by his faithful friend, Lady.

 

Cliff is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Zora Mougia; first wife, Jerry Easley Mougia; brother, Henry Mougia; grandson, Donald Benoit; son-in-law, Ricky Vincent; and his faithful four legged companion, Queenie.

 

A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. with his funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland. A Rosary will be recited immediately prior to the service at Broussard’s. A private family committal will be held after the funeral service.
