Gerald Wayne Spivey, 76, of Sour Lake, died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. Gerald was born September 1, 1934 in Sour Lake, Texas to Kenneth Loftin and Bessie Mae (Theis) Spivey. A lifelong resident of Sour Lake, he was a retired oilfield worker.

Gerald is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Betty Spivey of Sour Lake; sons, Ricky Wayne Spivey and wife Kathy of Sour Lake, Darren Keith Spivey and wife Diana of Nome, James Daniel Spivey and wife Valerie of Liberty, Kenneth Carl Spivey and wife Cheryl of Sour Lake; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Growing in Christ Image Church in Sour Lake. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Broussard’s in Kountze.
