Colita Katherine McLeod Dugas, 78, of Nederland, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011.  She was born in Augusta, Texas on September 23, 1932, to Emma Robbins and Leonard Thomas McLeod.  Colita retired from Market Basket after twenty-five years of service. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and of the United Methodist Women. Colita was animated, spirited, and creative by nature, and enjoyed writing poetry, cooking, and especially making her Creole gumbo.

Colita is survived by her loving husband of sixty-one years, David E. Dugas; son, David G. Dugas and his wife, Debi; daughter, Diane Goodman and her husband, Fred; grandchildren, Jeremy Lloyd and his wife, Christy, David C. Dugas, Dina Calhoun and her husband, Mark, Chris Goodman and his wife, Heather, Clint Goodman and his wife, Stephanie, and Aryn Click and her husband, Todd; ten great grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Danny Ray Dugas; three brothers; and three sisters.

Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3515 Helena, Nederland, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.  A private committal will be held Friday morning.
