Donald Wayne Slagle, 73, of Port Arthur, died June 3, 2011, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.  Donald was born July 7, 1937, to Mildred Walters and Wayne Slagle in Johnson City, Tennessee.  After retirement, he enjoyed relaxing watching old western movies and Nascar.  He was always a hard worker and very caring.

Survivors include his children, Michael Slagle of Groves, Thomas Slagle of Florida, and Teresa Marsh of Gulfport, Florida; grandchildren, Matthew Slagle and his wife, Heather of Groves, Calah Voisin and her husband, Shane of Lumberton, Renee Dankworth of Gulfport, Florida, Jeremy Dankworth of Brandon, Florida, and Kyle Slagle of Groves; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Haylee, Hunter, Nathan, Emma, Jeffrey, and Gabriel; sister, June Massey of Riverside, California; and longtime friend, Tommy Picou.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene Slagle; and son, Brian Slagle.
