Elizabeth Smith Tribble, 92, of Beaumont died Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas. A native of Nacogdoches County, Texas, Elizabeth had been a longtime Beaumont resident and was a retired Registered Nurse and Hospital administrator. Elizabeth assisted in establishing Yettie Kersting Memorial Hospital in Liberty and she was also instrumental in the placement of the historical marker at Cove Springs Cemetery in Nacogdoches County. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Beaumont. Elizabeth was a proud member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Lynn Smith and her husband, Guy of Huntsville; grandchildren, Elizabeth Laufer and her husband, Peter of Lawrence, Kansas, Susan Parker and her husband, Stewart of O’Fallon, Missouri, John Youngblood and his wife, Lisa of Austin, Ashley Szer and her husband, Charlie of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Joni Rust and her husband, Joe of San Antonio; thirteen great-grandchildren; and niece, Karen Dominguez and her husband, Sal and their three children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Tribble; daughter, Ann Sedita; son, John K. Youngblood; parents, Jesse and Macie Smith; and sisters, Bobbie Campbell and Jean Horn. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at First United Methodist Church, 701 Calder, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with a 3:00 p.m. burial at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches. A gathering of her family and friends will be Monday, June 6, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Broussard’s. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Cove Springs Cemetery, c/o Commercial Bank of Texas, 4810 North Street, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965 or First United Methodist Church, 701 Calder, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
