Homer L. French 
December 1, 1916 - May 24, 2011

Homer L. French, Jr., 94, of Lumberton died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

 

He was a lifelong resident of the area and was retired from Mobil Oil.  Homer proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

 

He is survived by his wife of seventy-three years, Janice French of Lumberton; sons, John C. French, Sr. and his wife Gail of Bevil Oaks and Tommy French, Sr. and his wife Dora of Lumberton; daughter, Maureen Broussard of Nederland; grandchildren, John French, Jr. of Georgetown, Debbie Riggs and her husband Kyle and Craig French all of Beaumont, Penny French of Katy, Tommy French, Jr. and Leslie French both of Lumberton, Annette Whitaker and her husband Chuck of Sour Lake, and Adrianne Martin of Nederland; and eight great-grandchildren. 

 

The family would like to thank the caregivers, Shelia Gregory, Evanna Roberts, Gerry Roberts, and Ann Wagner for all the loving care and kindness they showed to Mr. French.

 

Homer is preceded in death by his parents, Homer Sr. and Ethel Mae French and brother, John Bee French.

 

A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2011, at Magnolia Cemetery, 2290 Pine Street, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, May 26, 2011, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary starting at 6:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
