Louis "Paw Paw" James Voan, Jr. 
January 29, 1927 - May 23, 2011

Louis James “Paw Paw” Voan, 84, of Winnie, died peacefully at his home Monday, May 23, 2011.

 

Paw Paw Voan was well known in the Winnie area for his J. & E. Lawnmower Repair Service and for his work with the Masonic Lodge #1377. He loved to go deer hunting and spend time with his family.

 

Paw Paw is survived by his sons, Kenny Ortego and his wife Suzie, N. J. “Bubba” Ortego and his wife Mary Lou; daughters, Murlene Blanchard and her husband, Donny and Tammy Ortego all of Winnie; grandchildren, Billy Wayne Johnson and his wife Jennifer, Kimberly Renee Ortego Kuver and her husband Pran, Misty Lynn East Vodika and her husband, Jerry, Michael Trevor Ortego and his wife Jada, Tracy Lynn Ortego Desormeaux, Trevor James Ortego, Daphne Lynn Ortego Leleaux, Tricia Frisby, Tedia Loper, Tara Michelle Ortego Marks and her husband Spencer, Amber Suzanne Ortego Parker and her husband Grant, Ashley Kaye Ortego and Whitney Leigh Ortego; great-grandchildren, Colby Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Alexia Vodika, Christopher Vodika, Braden Desormeaux, Dustin Leleaux, Joshua Leleaux, Mckenzie Leleaux, Haley Frisby, Hunter Frisby, Courtney Forse, Cora Loper, Jackson Seabaugh, Emma Marks, Stephen Marks, Mallorie Blankenship, Darren Scott, Addie Parker, Reed Ortego, Nickolas Kovatch, and Kayden Rowland; and numerous relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Sonnier Voan; son, Roger Lee Ortego; daughter, Rita Gayle Ortego and granddaughter, Scotty Ortego.

 

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, in Winnie with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Broussard’s.
