Helen Marie Hale 
January 27, 1937 - May 22, 2011

Helen Marie Hale, 74, of Beaumont, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

 

A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Helen was born January 27, 1937, to Helen Enderle Shelton and Ralph D. Shelton, Sr.  She was a retired dispatcher working with the Beaumont Police Department and Jefferson County Sherriff Department.  Helen was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.

 

Survivors include her daughters, Sherry Maniscalco and her husband, J.L., Sissy Salim and her husband, Nick, Teresa McReynolds and her husband, James, and Kim Manuel and her husband, Paul all of Beaumont; sons, Joe Hale and his wife, Sharon of Friendswood, Mark Hale and his wife, Sulyn of Beaumont, and Billy Barton, who was like a son to Helen, and a brother to her children; grandchildren, Nick Maniscalco, Tony Maniscalco and his wife, Kimberly, David Salim, Adam Salim, Travis McReynolds and his wife, Kelly, Kristen McReynolds, Hannah McReynolds, Cherri Manuel, Tonya Srader and her husband, Steven, Tara Manuel, Jacob Hale, Garrett Hale, Kacie Jo Hale, Sarah Hale, and Emily Hale; great-grandchildren, Brittney Maniscalco, Nathan  Maniscalco, Katlyn Glass, Christopher Glass, Cameron McReynolds, Caleb McReynolds, Kade McReynolds, Jordan Manuel, Brandon Dougan, Hannah Brod, Chloe Manuel, and one on the way; brother, C.A. “Pete” Shelton and his wife, Kathy of Beaumont; sister-in-law, Kitty Shelton of Bossier City, Louisiana; the Barton Family; and lifelong friend, Catherine Ann McFarland.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-five years, William H. “Bill” Hale; her son, Marty; and brother, Sonny Shelton.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 4445 Avenue A, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Broussard’s.

 

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to her loving caregivers and the nurses at Harbor Hospice for their care and compassion.
