Truman Hester, 80, of Buna died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at his residence.

A native of Evadale, Truman was a lifelong resident of the area and was an ironworker with Local 125. Truman proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Patricia Hester of Buna; children, Mary Abbott and her husband, Mike of Seabrook, Susan Josey and her husband, William of Buna, Greg Hester and Chris of Hempstead, Scott Hester and his wife, Melinda of Nebraska, and Elizabeth Welch and her husband, Lynn of Maurice, Louisiana; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and brothers, Lyle Hester and his wife, Sandra of Call and Cary Hester and his wife, Cathy of Vidor.

Truman is preceded in death by his mother, Ella Moss Hester; father, Arthur Hester; great-grandson, Carson Johnson; brothers, Odell Hester, Arthur Hester Jr., and Bill Hester; and sister, Patricia Lunsford..

A gathering of his family and friends will be Monday, May 23, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with his funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee with burial to follow at Morse Cemetery in Buna.
