Carolina Ramirez, 74, a lifelong resident of Beaumont, departed this life on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Born July 24, 1936, she was the daughter of Paulita Martinez Costilla and Mariano “Mike” Costilla. Carolina was a 1954 graduate of St. Anthony High School and a lifelong member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for twenty-five years. On October 5, 1958, Carolina was united in marriage to Julian Ramirez. For many years, she worked as the office manager for Fingers Furniture and then as office manager for Dr. V.J. O’Shell Orthodontistry. She also worked for Coburn’s Supply Company. She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Julian Ramirez of Beaumont; daughter, Lisa Ramirez of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; brother, Mark Costilla of Beaumont; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a world of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paulita and Mike Costilla. A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2011 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 767 Avenue A, with Reverend Luis Urriza, O.S.A. as celebrant. A committal will follow at Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Broussard’s.
