James D. Simon, Jr., 68, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont.

A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, James was born April 18, 1943, to Frances Hebert Simon and James David Simon, Sr.  He was a retired shipping and receiving supervisor with Coca Cola.

Survivors include his wife, LyVonne Simon of Beaumont; sons, David Simon and his wife, Joyce and Steve Simon and his wife, Sandy all of Evadale; daughter, Jennifer Viator and her husband, Bryan of Friendswood; and six grandchildren, Ethan Gomez, Tyler Viator, Bianca Gomez, Mason Simon, Chance Simon and Matthew Simon.

His memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 12 Noon Sunday until time of service at Broussard’s.

A family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
