Owen William "Bill" Scott, 87, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Oak Bend Medical Center in Richmond.

Bill was born February 23, 1924, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Francis Jewel Davis Scott and Owen Marshall Scott. A resident of the Beaumont area since the early 1990’s, he was a retired immigration officer with the Immigration and Naturalization Service and a United States Army Air Corps veteran. Bill was a Mason, a Shriner, enjoyed square dancing and wood working. He was a devoted husband.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Scott; sister, Mildred Leavitt; daughter, Linda Scott; son, Steven Scott and wife, Debbie; son, Marshall Kent Scott; daughter, Susan Davenport; step-son, Donald L. Buzzingham and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Lesa Hass, Brian Scott, Lindsey Retcho, Joshua Scott, Donna Joy Buzzingham Pizzuti and husband, Sal; Susan Buzzingham Driever and husband, Scott; Robyn Buzzingham Rife and husband, Nathan. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Ashley Cartwright, Blayz Scott, Madison Scott, Rylee Retcho and Caleb Retcho, Sydney McIntire, Nicholas Pizzuti, Costantino Pizzuti, Gianna Pizzuti, Maxwell Driever, and Erik Driever.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

His funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston.
