George Wellborne Biddell, 79, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Christus Dubuis Hospital of Beaumont.

Born May 7, 1932, in Beaumont to Margaret Smith Biddell and Gus Biddell; George had been a lifelong resident of Beaumont and was a retired truck driver with Malone and Hyde. He was a United States Coast Guard veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Broussard Biddell of Beaumont; daughters, Regina Parker and her husband, Mark of Sour Lake and Gina Ann Brunett and her husband, Terry of Vidor; son, Jerald J. Joshlin of Beaumont; grandchildren, Adrian Hubbard, Dustin Parker, Dillon Parker, Lance Brunett and Trisha Horn; great grandchildren, Lauren Brunett, Layla Brunett, and Ethan Horn; and sisters, Martha Jane Magee of Vidor, and Melba Steele of Beaumont.

He is preceded in death by his son, George Dale Biddell.

His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Broussard’s.
